Competent Cew, Day Skipper Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster courses can be taken as one of our five day learn to sail holidays or they can be taken over any three weekends. If you are an experienced sailor then we can help you acheive your yachtmaster with a program that recognises your skills.

Which Course ?

Choosing the right entry course depends on your knowledge of sailing and experience. If you are thinking about Day Skipper you need to be sure your theory knowledge is good before you attempt the practical and this should include a reasonable knowledge of how to use charts and tide tables. See our theory courses page for more information.

Coastal Skipper is for more experienced sailors and involves night time pilotage and offshore passage work. It requires a more advanced knowledge of weather, the collision regulations and chart work. The RYA coastal / yachtmaster theory course is ideal.

If you are an experienced sailor then we can help you acheive your yachtmaster with a program that recognises your skills. We can advise you on the best option and if you have a history of offshore sailing you may want to consider coastal or yachtmaster.
