VHF / HF Marine Radio Course

 

Chardonnay Coast can provide a VHF / HF course including Digital Selective Calling. You will be prepared for the exam using VHF radio simulators with an interactive format.

 

Courses are held monthly over a weekend and includes text book, licence fee and a great morning and afternoon tea

We have lots of warm sunshine, and a summer weather pattern charcterised by fresh morning land breezes followed by fresh sea breezes. In winter we have brisk cold fronts followed by beautiful winter days. On board you will find professional friendly instructors, modern clean yachts and a commitment to helping you develop the sailing skills you want.

Our sailing school is recognised by the Royal Yachting Association and provides the full range of internationally recognised RYA courses from beginner to Yachtmaster in recognised tidal waters.

Fast track at JurienCourses can be taken as one of our five day learn to sail holidays or they can be taken over any three weekends within 12 months of enrolling for a small additional charge. We run programs most weekends and we also run special clinics for yachties who want to improve their skills whether in berthing, sail trim or rough weather sailing.

We provide home study or class room based theory courses from Day Skipper to Yachtmaster. We teach you how to read charts, plot courses, fix positions, work out tidal depths and plan an effective passage. We also have on board radar and chartplotter based navigation courses available to teach you the latest in electronic navigation.

For couples, we specialise in short handed sailing techniques such as berthing and should you ever need it emergencies.

Our courses are great for bare boat charterers and are recognised world wide. Ideal if your contemplating a cruising holiday in the Greek Islands or the Dalmatian coast.

Practical courses are on either our Jeanneau 37 Sun Odyssey or Beneteau 411 cruising yachts both offering a high standard of fit out and sailing performance. We provide quality wet weather gear at no extra charge, meals on board are included as well as clean linen and bedding. Our courses are limited to a maximum of five students to make sure you get as much hands on experience as possible.

At Chardonnay Coast we aim to provide a quality experience. We don't just sit you on a yacht and sail around a set course. We aim to make sure you experience the full extent of cruising including passages to different ports, as well as sailing skill development such as sailing in close quarters situations and varied weather conditions. While on board we visit locations such as Quindalup, Eagle Bay, Busselton, Bunbury, Mandurah and Fremantle depending on weather and the course selected.

Our yachts are fully safety equipped to the standards of the RYA and the Western Australian Government. For more information click on the course list to the left.

Most importantly our instructors are the most qualified in Western Australia holding both RYA instructor qualifications and Western Australian commercial qualifications. Our tema combines a commitment to safety with instructional excellence. You will recieve personal attention and professional commitment to help you realise the best in your sailing capacity.

New Master Class

We have just introduced the new Master class Series. Master Class is a new form of sailing instruction which provides greater hands on experience with a personal Yachtmaster Instructor. It provides a much more intensive option with plenty of time on the helm. Its a great option for couples providing high quality instruction yet privacy and the opportunity to have your own space.

Master Class is available for any RYA program or general sailing revision and is $1800pp including all food and accomodation for five days.
