RYA Coastal Skipper Fasttrack Course: 4 weeks $Au5900

If you have no previous sailing experience the RYA Coastal Skipper fastracks can be undertaken in five weeks together with home based on line theory courses. You will study advanced navigation and pilotage, weather and meteorology and the International Regulations for Prevention of Collisions at Sea. You can complete the theory requirement at our base but you will need to allow an additional $900 for two weeks accommodation.

In your final weeks you will act as skipper during an offshore passage to Fremantle .

The RYA Coastal skipper course is an excellent offshore program which will teach you yacht handling in a variety of weather conditions by day and night. You will complete over 400 sea miles and do a lot of close quarters sailing. This is a course which will build an excellent foundation for offshore recreational cruising and is excellent for couples planning long term cruising. It is also a great retirement package for those thinking about cruising after work

The sea survival course can be provided as an optional extra.

Timeframe

  • Week 1 - Practical sailing - Competent Crew.

  • Week 3 - Bunbury to Fremantle and return passage and VHF/HF radio
  • Week 4 - Coastal Skipper practical.
  • Note day skipper and Coastal Skipper theory is completed as an online home study package before arrival

Please Note: The certificates provided are for course completion. If you require a Certificate of Competency you will need to complete a sea survival course and examination. Prices on application.

The total cost is: AU $5900. This includes all accommodation and meals when completing practical sailing courses.
